Current Responsibilities


As Executive Vice President of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotel’s Strategic Advisory &  Asset Management Division, Greg Hartmann is responsible for JLL Hotels’ advisory resources throughout the West and its hotel valuation practice nationally. JLL Hotels has strategic advisors in 36 offices throughout 19 countries worldwide.


 


Experience


Greg has specialized for over 25 years in hotel and real estate counseling, appraisals and competitive hotel and corporate analytics including branded and independent multi-property portfolios ranging from 10 to over 600 hotels. He has performed assignments for over 12,000 hotels, resorts, casinos, conference centers, golf courses, ski resorts and timeshare facilities in all 50 states and throughout North America, Latin America and Europe. A frequent industry speaker and author of countless articles relating to hotel operations, maximizing profitability, ROI, market dynamics, competitiveness, capitalization and brand equity. Mr. Hartmann has also owned, operated and developed hotel, office and recreational facilities as principal investor and/or promotional partner over the past decade.  


Positions


Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, Mr. Hartmann created STR Analytics with Randy Smith as wholly-owned subsidiary of Smith Travel Research to facilitate client advisory and new analytics product development for the 25-year iconic hotel industry performance monitoring company. In the process, Greg and the team he assembled at STR Analytics developed asset and investment management tools that are currently being used by thousands of hotels globally. Previously, Mr. Hartmann founded and built the 20-person Boulder Office of HVS International and was a principal with Steve Rushmore in ten HVS offices in Dallas, Miami, Chicago, Denver, Mexico and specialty divisions in Hotel Management, Asset Management, F&B Consulting, Investment Banking, Golf Services, Technology Consulting and Convention Facilities. 


Education and Affiliations


Mr. Hartmann is a graduate of the Cornell University Hotel School and holds the designation of MAI from the Appraisal Institute and Certified Hotel Administrator from the American Hotel & Lodging Association. Mr. Hartmann was an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado and acted as Executive Director of the Center for Sustainable


Tourism at the Leeds School of Business at CU.  He is the founding investor and a current board member of Sustainable Cards LLC that manufactures the most environmentally-friendly hotel key and gift cards made today.
