For nearly 30 years, Mike Westover has represented lenders, owners, developers, investors and the holders of other real estate interests in a wide variety of transactions throughout the United States.
While Mike has a broad and diverse real estate practice, he has developed a particular expertise in the area of real estate finance. He has represented national banks and other institutional lenders in dozens of sophisticated financing transactions. He also frequently represents agents and participants in large syndicated financing transactions. In addition to lender representation, Mike regularly works with owners and developers in connection with the financing of their real estate projects. This has included representing one of the country's largest developers of apartment communities in over $2 billion of financings.
Mike's financing expertise extends into the area of credit workouts. He has extensive experience dating back to the mid-1980's, in restructuring troubled real estate and commercial credit facilities, and in advising both lenders and borrowers in connection with foreclosures, receiverships and other remedial actions.
In addition to his client work, Mike served on the firm's Executive Committee for over 20 years, and as the firm's Managing Director from 1998 until 2011.
