  • Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District - November 20, 2012

    Description: Cherry Creek North endeavors to be the destination for shopping in Colorado. The area is home to more than 320 businesses including a unique collection of boutiques, spas, restaurants, galleries and other specialty shops located in the heart of central Denver. The aesthetic appeal and condition of the area are very important to the shopping experience for the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District. In late 2007, NV5 was selected to provide program management and survey services for the revitalization efforts of the District. Improvements were be funded by bonds totaling $18.5 million and the work encompassed over 60 face blocks in the district. NV5 served as program manager for the design and construction of streetscape, lighting and way-finding within the 19-block Cherry Creek North shopping district. NV5 acted as the Business Improvement District's (BID) agent during the selection of the urban designer and has been responsible for overseeing the design process as well as coordinating with the area's constituents and other stakeholders. In addition, NV5 provides continued program management and construction management services for the construction of the improvements. Extensive public communication has been, and continues to be, vital for the project's ultimate success. Throughout construction, public safety, budget oversight, impact mitigation, and scheduling are critical project management factors that NV5 is overseeing and implementing.

    Description: Merrick provided site engineering for the new Cabela's store at RidgeGate Commons. The store includes a 105,600-square-foot floor plan and 530 parking spaces. The entire parcel is a 30-acre site and includes a four-story hotel, two anchor store pads (not including the Cabela's store site), and two retail store pads. Merrick provided all civil engineering for the project including grading design, drainage engineering, utility engineering, parking lot designs, egress/ingress, perimeter roads, and other site elements.
