    Description: This 75,000-square-foot Health and Human Services office building was designed and is being constructed to achieve a LEED Platinum certification. The new facility is composed of structural steel, composite metal panels and masonry and will connect to an existing county services building. Construction activities were initiated with the environmental abatement and demolition of two single-story office buildings that had been converted from retail uses to county offices long before and were operationally inefficient. When complete, the building will integrate a wide range of strategies including daylighting, interior glazing to increase light penetrations, hydronic heating/evaporative cooling, LED lighting, a high performance building envelope, low maintenance/durable building materials, construction waste recycling and numerous site credits.
