Ms. Gundlach Neufeld joined the Aurora Housing Authority in September 2003 as a Housing Developer, and was promoted to the Director of Development in September 2004. Elizabeth was subsequently promoted to Deputy Executive Director in October 2013. In this capacity, all property management, maintenance, and development staff report directly or indirectly to Elizabeth.
Since 2004, Elizabeth has directed the AHA acquisition and renovation, refinance, and/or new construction of nine different developments totaling 682 units. Eight of these developments were completed by accessing the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit program, which brought over $40 million of outside equity into Aurora. Additionally, AHA has partnered with for-profit and not-for-profit owners to preserve or create an additional 600 affordable housing units in the Aurora community.
Prior to the Aurora Housing Authority, Elizabeth was at the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) for 8 years, 7 of those years in the Rental Housing Finance division. Prior to CHFA, Elizabeth worked for 12 years in the private sector in commercial property finance, commercial asset management, brokerage, and commercial property management.
