Centennial is one of Colorado's newest cities and was the largest incorporation of its kind in U.S. history when it was created in 2001. The City is located in the heart of south metro Denver and is well connected through an extensive multi-modal transportation network to the regions key business hubs. Many prominent employers in the aerospace, finance, medical and emerging technologies, advanced communications and business services sectors call Centennial home.
The City was in the retail spotlight in 2008 as IKEA announced plans for its first Colorado store in Centennial. Additionally, The Streets at SouthGlenn, a mixed-use retail, entertainment and residential project opened in 2009 featuring sidewalk cafes and restaurants, gourmet bistros and unique local and national retailers with a 14 auditorium Hollywood Theater.
