Statewide apartment vacancies fall to 4.6 percent

The vacancy rate in Colorado apartments fell to 4.9 percent in the first quarter, down from 5.2 percent in the first quarter of 2012, according to a Colorado Division of Housing report released today. The first-quarter vacancy rate is also down from 5.2 percent in the fourth quarter. Grand Junction to light up Times Square in NYC

The Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Bureau partnered with the Grand Junction Economic Partnership in an effort to expand the community’s profile. The latest effort is an electronic billboard near Times Square in New York City that will showcase images and activities in Mesa County. The advertisement will run through April 14. Brownsfield grant funded for cleanup of abandoned mine site

The Colorado Brownfields Foundation recently provided a grant to assist Hinsdale County in the management and cleanup necessary to restore a heritage tourism site. The grant will assist in the cleanup of the Ute Ulay Townsite, an abandoned mine site,  located along Henson Creek, just outside of Lake City.
